Women's soccer captures convincing victory on Senior Day

Kawakahi Amina / The Dartmouth Staff This season, the Dartmouth women's soccer team has not gotten the results that it hoped for, but on Senior Day the team stepped up, walloping Cornell 3-1 in the last home game for the Class of 2008. The Big Green was in control for the entire game, consistently threatening the Big Red goal while shutting down its offense. With the win, the Big Green improves its overall record to 4-9-2 and 2-3-2 in the Ivy League.










The Big Green field hockey team salvaged a weekend split by toppling Holy Cross on the road 2-1 on Sunday.

Field hockey splits weekend games

Tilman Dette / The Dartmouth Staff The final week of Dartmouth field hockey's disappointing season began Sunday with a 2-1 win at Holy Cross (6-13). This victory followed another Ivy League loss on Saturday at Harvard (8-8) by a score of 3-1.






Volleyball managed a weekend split against Ivy League opponents.

Big Green volleyball falls to Yale in weekend finale, 3-2

Emily Unger Coming off a three-game slide, the Dartmouth women's volleyball team (13-7, 6-4 Ivy) notched their thirteenth win of the season Friday against Brown, but split the weekend road trip, dropping a five-game nail-biter to Yale on Saturday. "Both matches this weekend were vital in order for us to reach our ultimate goal, to win the Ivy League championship," libero Amanda Marston '10 said. Dartmouth has four games versus conference opponents remaining. Against Brown (4-14, 2-6 Ivy), Dartmouth failed to take advantage of opportunities early on.

Big Green cross country teams disappoint at Heptagonals

Sometimes things just aren't meant to be. There was little in the way of smiles on the bus ride home from Friday's Ivy League Heptagonal Cross-Country Championship meet for the Big Green after one of the more disappointing races of the year. Both the men's and women's teams have been plagued by injuries this fall, preventing either squad from running at full strength.
