Hollisto's World

Think back to every great football movie you've ever seen. Now think about the last scene. Think about the epic goal-line push in "Friday Night Lights," the inspiring halftime speech in "Any Given Sunday" and the amazing last-second touchdown in "Remember the Titans." Now ask yourself: What do these moments all have in common? Stumped?

Women's lacrosse loses tense matchup at Penn

|

Nik Medrano / The Dartmouth Staff In a devastating 10-9 loss to the University of Pennsylvania, the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team snapped its five-game winning streak on Saturday. The atmosphere on the field was tense for the Big Green (8-3, 4-1 Ivy), both due to the significance of the game and the severe weather conditions, as a torrential downpour continued throughout most of the matchup. "It was the most rain I've ever played in," Shannie MacKenzie '11 said. MacKenzie also expressed her frustration that the scoreboard did not accurately reflect her team's abilities. "We are the better team," she said.

PLOUGH: One-on-One

|

I sat down with rookie sailor Avery Plough '14, who was recently selected by the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association as Co-Ed Sailor of the Week with partner John Renehan '13. How are NEISA awardees chosen? AP: Co-ed sailors of the week are chosen from the regatta performance from that given weekend, usually at one of the upper-level regattas. For those of us illiterate in sailing lingo, who's who in the boat?

Going five downs with Memorial Field

Kat Collins '11 leads Big Green lacrosse to Ivy dominance

|

Going against the grain of many great athletes, Kat Collins '11 did not emerge from the womb wielding a lacrosse stick, nor did she start playing as soon as she took her first steps. Instead, she was peer-pressured to start playing in seventh grade because all her friends were doing it.
