Wide receiver Tanner Scott '11, kicker Donald Kephart '11 and offensive lineman William Montgomery '11 were named to the 2011 National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Hampshire Honor Society last Wednesday. Membership is awarded to starting or significant substitute college football players from any division who maintain a grade point average of 3.2 or higher. Forty-one other Ivy League football players received the recognition. Brown University was the most represented among League schools in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society, with eight football players recognized, while Dartmouth had the lowest number of representatives out of the Ancient Eight.

Cornell University and Yale University will represent the Ivy League in the 2011 NCAA Division-I Tennis Championships. The number-42 ranked Big Red men's tennis team received its first-ever NCAA tournament bid after its perfect 7-0 League season. Cornell will face the number 24 Louisville University in the first round of the championships in Kentucky on May 13. On the women's side, the number 30 Bulldogs will face the number 43 College of William and Mary in the first round of the tournament in North Carolina on May 14. While Yale and Dartmouth shared the women's Ivy League title with 6-1 records, the Bulldogs edged the Big Green out for the NCAA bid in head-to-head competition this season. Freshman Connie Hsu will represent the University of Pennsylvania in the singles tournament at the NCAA women's championships, while the Harvard University's Holly Cao was named an alternate for the women's single bracket.

The Harvard University softball team shut out Cornell University in both games of the Ivy League Championship series to procure the League title this weekend. With a 5-0 victory in the second game of the series on Sunday, the Crimson ended the season with a 35-14 record. Harvard jumped out ahead on Saturday, winning the first game of the series by a score of 4-0. Crimson junior Rachel Brown posted a three-hit, complete-game shutout and struck out 12 batters in Saturday's win. After claiming the League title, the Crimson will receive an automatic bid to the 2011 Division-I Softball Championship. The bracket will be announced May 15 on ESPNU.
