Search ends with arrests of parking meter thieves

|

An investigation stemming from the theft of eight Hanover-area parking meters this summer concluded early Friday morning with the arrests of Derik Rogers, 35, and Josie Rogers, 30, who are a couple from Wilder, Vt. The couple is accused of stealing approximately $3,000 in parking meters and lost coin revenues over a five-month period.

When you finally surrender to studying for those miserable finals and tire of sleeping on the couch because of myriad invading family members, the realization hits that with Thanksgiving comes a limited number of joys: football for some, turkey for others, shopping for the brave few and the universal delight sure to warm the hearts of the "grinchiest" folk, the commencement of the holiday movie season. While it is impossible to avoid succumbing to all that holiday cheer, we cannot all erect our Christmas trees before the leftover turkey has even reached the refrigerator.

Salinger, Kalletta tapped to lead The Dartmouth

Alicia Moldeen / The Dartmouth The outgoing 2007 Directorate of The Dartmouth announced Saturday that Phil Salinger '08 and Eddie Kalletta '08 will take over as editor-in-chief and publisher of The Dartmouth beginning next winter. Kalletta and Salinger will assume a staff of nearly 200 undergraduate students and self-amassed assets of over $600,000. Salinger, an economics major from Newton, Mass., and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, is currently studying in Rome on an Italian LSA.

Men's Basketball falls to Colgate Despite a second-half surge, the men's basketball team (0-3) lost its home opener to Colgate 55-43 Saturday afternoon. Trailing 25-20 at the half, the team managed to knot up the score with just over 15 minutes remaining in the second stanza, but was unable to keep pace with the Raiders thereafter.

Students discuss faith at interfaith dinner

Danny Gobaud "Voices of Faith," an annual inter-faith dinner and discussion which was held in Collis Commonground last night, focused on understanding spirituality and faith on Dartmouth's campus. The event began with presentations from five student speakers followed by dinner and small group discussions.
