Hanover Inn contracts Pyramid Hotel Group

|

The College has contracted Pyramid Hotel Group -- a private hotel company based in Boston -- to assume the day-to-day management responsibilities at the Hanover Inn, according to an e-mail sent to the Dartmouth community by Senior Vice President Steven Kadish on Friday. Pyramid -- which has operated hotels at other peer institutions such as Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania -- will begin its supervision of the Hanover Inn on August 1, the e-mail said. "The Inn has changed over the past 200 years and this is part of its ongoing evolution," Kadish said in the e-mail. Dartmouth employees at the Inn can elect to become Pyramid employees, the e-mail said. "We expect Pyramid to bring opportunities to the employees and also make improvements that should benefit the overall guest experience," Kadish wrote in the e-mail. Pyramid will report to the College's campus planning and facilities department.

While some students are slaving away at desk jobs, dying in their impersonal cubicles, you are preparing for a summer of shameless shenanigans. Contrary to popular belief, sophomore Summer was originally instated by the College in order to reward students for their hard work during the year by awarding a term of academic credit in the absence of real schoolwork.

Sophomore Summer Swindle

In news that will surprise absolutely no one, "the Dartmouth Experience" is extremely expensive. Students pony up an average of over $18,500 per term to enjoy Dartmouth's world-class educational opportunities, high quality dining facilities, diverse residential options and yes, the intangible mystique, charm and culture of a campus steeped in over two and a half centuries of tradition.
