All those who enjoy authentic German food, beer, music and entertainment will be glad to know that the German club is back. The club, originally founded in the '40s, slowly faded into oblivion in the 1980s and 90s. It has made a powerful resurgence this year and is once again a presence on the Dartmouth campus.

With "Day I Forgot," Pete Yorn fails to avoid the dreaded sophomore curse. This second effort from this singer/instrumentalist who is a little bit Ryan Adams, a little bit Coldplay and a little bit John Mayer is a good album, but all of the songs could easily have been on his debut.

Adil Ahmad, in his April 28 letter "Students First?" wrote "It is high time that the community members understand that they are not the only ones who are suffering from the housing shortage. If the town is willing to donate land for employee housing, it should also donate land for student lodging. Objecting to the construction of new dormitories will definitely alienate students from the community." To this, I offer two critiques:

Janos Marton '04, the incumbent candidate for president of the Student Assembly, should be reelected. His successful efforts to implement small, targeted improvements reflect an important piece of knowledge gained through experience: that the Assembly cannot effect major changes on campus.
