To the Editor:
On behalf of United Campus Ministers, we encourage members of the Dartmouth community to share their experiences with the Title IX investigators. Each of us comes from a religious tradition that holds human life to be sacred and violence to be unacceptable. Our traditions also teach the importance of truth-telling if there is to be positive change.
Like many in the Dartmouth community, we are concerned about the continuing issue of sexual assault. Last year, we undertook special training as first responders for survivors of sexual assault. We continue to stand ready to assist any member of the Dartmouth community in need of support when faced with these difficult issues.
We know from experience that truth-telling is never easy. But if Dartmouth is to combat sexual assault, we need to learn the truth.
