Joshi: Vice-Presidential Candidate Statement

Specific examples include actively partnering with the Inter-Community Council and promoting the Pangea inter-community fund, expanding it beyond social programming to engage policy issues that stretch across groups. These include forming community-specific alumni groups, ensuring faculty and administration make cultural sensitivity a priority, promoting the Office of Pluralism and Leadership's student development programs and ensuring the administration supports and provides professional development opportunities for OPAL staff to establish stability in these important positions.

I will work closely with existing student and administrative groups that focus on sexual assault and alcohol harm reduction to create comprehensive lists of programs, determine best practices, find gaps and fill them by funding projects. I will also collaborate with Greek Leadership Council and its constituent organizations, working to define community standards, in addition to helping negotiate and collaborate with administrators.

I will harness my experiences to accomplish these projects for you: I have worked as a five-term undergraduate advisor, a student representative to the faculty and administration's Committee on Student Life, a consultant to the Rockefeller Center, a vice president of the International Student Association, a Diversity Peer Advisor and Student Assembly's Alcohol Harm Reduction Committee chair. These experiences have given me expertise in restructuring organizations and effectively promoting student ideas to faculty and administrators. Please let me know if you have any questions, and take a look at my Facebook page to see my full platform.
