Undaunted in its sentiments, "War Horse" is a symphony of emotions, showcasing classic movie-making at its best. Set against a backdrop of bold and moving colors, the odyssey of the duo of boy and horse as they mature is a remarkable one. It appeals to our deep-seated desire for happy endings and is impossible to resist. Jackie Wei
Beautifully shot and well-directed, the film has the visual feel of a John Ford Western. While the movie contains some of the best war scenes filmed in the last decade, it becomes mired down in a slightly odd love story between a horse and his owner that seems to lack depth. Rohail Premjee
I don't cry in movies, but when I saw "War Horse," I spent the last 20 minutes sobbing like a baby. These were tears of joy, as the movie is a real sentimental tearjerker with an amazing cast, storyline and scenery. The loveable horse Joey stole the show hands-down. As the movie's star, he has a human-like personality and goes on an incredible journey across war-ravaged Europe. If you haven't already seen it, I suggest you go right now. Sydney Ayers
