Book:

"Art Out of Time: Unknown Comic Visionaries 1900-1969"

Sure, it's non-fiction, but Dan Nadel's big, beautiful collection of old obscure comics from the early 20th century is mesmerizing. I've only seen a few strips from the book, but these early comics are some of the coolest art I've seen in awhile. - Meredith Fraser

Music:

"In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry

The title pretty much speaks for itself. In a season when kids barbeque three out of three meals a day and the swimming dock is the new frat basement, this song is a perfect soundtrack. "Have a drink, have a drive, go out and see what you can find..." - John Beardsley

YouTube:

I'm disillusioned with everything, so of course I'm a fan of Wes Anderson. The real selling point is American Express, though. I love that card. - Dan Duray

Movie:

"Superman Returns"

Bryan Singer's update of the classic saga finds a superb Brandon Routh soaring as Superman. Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey also lend their considerable talents toward making this knockout the first 2006 summer blockbuster worth seeing. - Mike Epstein

T.V.:

"Project Runway"

Heidi Klum is knocked up again, but that hasn't stopped her from launching a special summer season of project runway. The reality series follows fifteen wanna-be fashion designers as they compete before a panel of elite judges to score a chance at presenting their work at New York Fashion Week and earning money to start their own lines. The third season premiere aired last night on "Bravo."
