To the Editor:
Alexandra Roberts '02 makes a dubious point in her rebuttal of Katie Greenwood '04's critique of the sorority system (The Dartmouth, Feb. 4, "A Systematic Rebuttal"). According to Ms. Roberts, rejection is a part of life at Dartmouth, because: "A student who wishes to join a literary magazine become a Presidential Scholar join a team or write a thesis, might also be turned down." Ms. Roberts should not confuse talent with whatever it is that gets a woman selected by a Greek house. I will never make the track team at Dartmouth, but that has everything to do with me being slow and nothing to do with the track team making a judgment on me as a person. This "rejection happens to everyone" defense is truly obnoxious; sadly, it seems we have not left high school too far behind.
