To the Editor:
The Dartmouth's Nov. 11th article, "Anti-Semitic slurs found in Topliff Hall" quotes Dean Nelson as saying, "Individuals have been held accountable for these actions in the past, and they will continue to be held accountable. The sentiments expressed in those messages are reprehensible, hurtful and totally unacceptable in any kind of community." I hope that the offending party in this case is not "held accountable" in the same way as the person who sent out offensive materials to members of the Jewish community through campus mail last year. That person was given little more then a 'good talking to' and sent on their way. Perhaps if the administration had dealt more strongly with that person it would have served to better deter others and this latest incident could have been avoided.
