To the Editor:
In response to Mr. Aly Rahim's violent protest to the use of the goddess Saraswati in a poster depicting a party, I would like to state that not all Hindus feel the same way. As a Hindu, a Brahmin in fact, my immediate family worships the goddess Saraswati on an almost semi-annual basis, and I am not at all offended by the said poster. On the contrary, I found it somewhat novel ... intelligent and creative, if you will, that students in a social organization at Dartmouth were able to come up with a visually attractive alternative to most party advertisements, which tend to be mundane at best.
