Today at 4 PM, the Programming Board will be hosting the Authors and Editors tea in the Tower room of Baker Library. This event is Dartmouth's annual tribute to members of the faculty who have had work published in the past year. All will be available to discuss their work with interested students in a very informal setting.
The tea is an exciting event for both students and professors. Students are given the unique chance to see another side of their professors by talking with them about their projects outside of class in an informal setting.
Professors appreciate the chance to talk about their accomplishments, published works and future projects with interested students.
"The Dartmouth community always looks forward to this annual event because it provides the opportunity for students to appreciate and socialize with the faculty outside of the classroom," says Authors & Editors Chair, Jaime Kleinman '99.
On average, about 100 to 150 students attend, and approximately 70 professors present their works. The published materials range from books to pieces in professional journals to news articles, covering a variety of topics.
President Wright will make opening remarks commending the Dartmouth authors and editors for their work.
