CDs, pen, watch stolen from Lord

The Hanover Police are investigating a break-in through the ground floor room in Lord Hall that occurred sometime between last Saturday night and Sunday morning.

Approximately $1800 was reported stolen to the police in the form of 80 to 90 compact discs, stamps, a gold plated pen and a watch case.

Detective-Sergeant Frank Moran said the break-in was reported to have occurred between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m.

Sergeant Drew Keith said the outer screen window on the west side of the building was cut with a sharp object, most likely a knife.

Keith said the burglar used the cut screen to gain access to the room and went through the occupant's personal belongings.

"It could have been anybody," he said. There were no other break-ins that night, according to the police.

"It was the first week the kid was back ... he stepped out for a little bit only to come back and find his room ransacked," Keith said.

Keith said all students should remember to lock their rooms and put all windows down even when leaving for just a short period of time.

"This happens quite a bit over the course of the year," he said.
