We're Back

P Says: Hey C! It's been six months since our last column. How was Italy?

C Says: It's was nice. Thanks for asking. And Spain?

P Says: Great thanks. I feel like we have a lot of catching up to do. What do you think sophomore summer will be like?

C Says: I'm sorry, can we talk about this later? Food Court closes for the weekend in five minutes and I want to have dinner.

P Says: But it's only 4:25 p.m..

C Says: Uh huh.

P Says: Wait! What classes are you taking?

C Says: Umm hi, Astro 1.

P Says: Right, I must have missed you at 8 am Saturday morning since I was busy saving seats for everyone I know.

C Says: So where are you living this summer?

P Says: In the reserves.

C Says: Oh my god, do you really think Astro 1 will be that hard? I am so ashamed. I was thinking that maybe I would take it easy this summer and not work to my full potential and only take one class which I'm NRO-ing but once again P, you've shown me the error of my ways and you've pointed me in the right direction. Thank you so much. I'm going to the registrar at 4:35 right after dinner to reform my academic life.

P Says: Whatever C, I just meant the reserves are air-conditioned.

C Says: Oh.

P Says: So, how's your boyfriend D? Aren't you glad he's a '99?

C Says: He's really good, everything's great. I think having a relationship adds so much meaning to the entire sophomore summer experience, don't you?

P Says:

C Says: Oh, sorry.

P Says: Whatever. It's not a big deal. Let's talk about something else.

C Says: OK, sure. P, do you feel like you've begun the bonding process with our class that everyone says we'll experience this summer? I feel like we are so fortunate to have the opportunity to intimately get to know all the '99s and to end the term with a strong sense of class spirit and unity. I'm SO happy to be back!

P Says: Whatever, I don't recognize anyone. I thought I knew a lot of people in our class but apparently... Do you think other people feel that way also?

C Says: No. Do you want to order breadsticks? I've missed you.

P Says: OK, I've missed you too.
