Raman Soobrian '95 abandoned his car late Thursday night or early Friday morning after veering off Old Tuck Drive and hitting a tree sometime during the evening, injuring two of the three people in the vehicle.
Soobrian "lost control of the vehicle possibly from going to fast," according to College Proctor Bob McEwen. Aseem Chawla '95 and Juan Martinez '95 were passengers in the 1984 300ZX.
McEwen said the car hit a tree, spun around and ended up facing in the direction from which it had been coming.
Hanover Police found the car at 2:54 a.m. on Friday, according to a police press release. The release said the car experienced extensive damage.
According to the release, the officers noticed skid marks, blood and the car's license plate embedded in a tree at the scene of the accident.
The officers contacted the College Health Service and the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center to locate the people involved in the accident.
All three students left the scene of the accident separately, according to police reports in the Valley News.
Soobrian and Chawla were eventually located atDick's House. Chawla was then taken to DHMC by Safety and Security.
Soobrian sustained head injuries but was not taken to DHMC and Martinez was uninjured, the Valley News reported.
Chawla was treated for a laceration on his lip and released at 6:30 a.m. Friday, according to Ken McDaniels, an administrative coordinator at DHMC.
Chawla also required stitches on his head, according to the Valley News.
Soobrian, Chawla and Martinez could not be reached for comment yesterday.
McEwen said he believes criminal charges are likely.
No arrests have been made at this time, according to a Hanover Police dispatcher.
Hanover Police Detective David Luther has taken over the investigation, but could not be reached for comment last night.
The students were returning from Vermont when the accident occurred, according to the Valley News.
