To the Editor: While I appreciate the coverage that Kevin Walsh's column gives to Meredith Davis' "Family Values," currently on display in the Hop rotunda, relying completely on Thomas Sowell to "prove" that "the traditional family is the safest setting for a woman" is a mistake. While I do not disagree that people in same sex partnerships are also at risk for relationship abuse, statistics from a variety of sources show that most frequently, women are the victims and men are the perpetrators of domestic violence.
To the Editor: Due to recent articles and columns in this student paper and others, and posters seen around campus, I feel that it is important for the Dartmouth community to understand what resources are available with regard to sexual abuse.
To the Editor: While I appreciate the coverage The Dartmouth has given the Domestic Violence Awareness Week events overall, I would like to express my concern about the house editorial in Thursday's paper titled "Speaking Out?" To begin with, I'd like to emphasize and applaud the strength and courage of the survivors of domestic violence who shared their stories at the vigil.
