Dartmouth's Swimming and Diving Teams Should Receive More Coverage

To the Editor: I understand that it is impossible for The Dartmouth to cover every sports competition that takes place over the weekend.
On November 13, a bulletin was posted by the Women's Resource Center: a "Call for Volunteers" for Planned Parenthood of Northern New England. I object to the posting of this bulletin, not on the grounds that the Women's Resource Center has acted wrongly per se, but rather because of the faulty and dangerous message which the bulletin (perhaps unwittingly) promulgates. To be sure, the WRC has every right to post a bulletin of this nature.
A column was run last term ["College Should Promote Intellectualism," Feb. 1, 1996] which examined intellectualism at Dartmouth in light of the proposed additions to the East Wheelock cluster.
To the Editor: There are very few situations in which violent and abusive acts solve anything, and in countless cases, that violence usually ends up worsening any problems it endeavored to solve in the first place.
Itis unfortunate that the very system we are governed by is irrevocably cloaked with skepticism and distrust.
