Only a small fraction of the Jews at Dartmouth (by Jews I mean those of you who checked the little box as a freshman) attended this past Hillel meeting, and it is important that we are very clear on the discussion and the vote that transpired. A resolution was put on the table at the last meeting to take out the ad that appeared on May 17 in The Dartmouth.
Ana Bonnheim begins a March 4 column about the irreproachable institutions of liberty and democracy with the title "Why Israel is Important." She claims that the future of the "democratic free world" is jeopardized by the anti-democratic nature of Palestinian suicide bombers.

I am first a human being; then a Jew; and finally, an American. Being Jewish has always meant and will always mean supporting Israel -- this has been implicit since I started Jewish pre-school at the age of two.I'm Jewish, and Israel is the Jewish state. What else is there?
To the Editor: In Tuesday's edition of The Dartmouth, a story read, "For the first time ever, this fall seniors will have the option of selecting off-campus housing owned by the College through the Office of Residential Life" The Foley House, located on the corner of Maple and West Street has been a College owned, off-campus residence for over 20 years.
To the Editor: I think it's great how passionate we are. It's wonderful that we can organize, coordinate and inspire each other to rally and protest.
