This year, the Hopkins Center and the Office of Greek Life launched a new partnership that encourages affiliated students to attend more performance arts events on campus.
The Office of Greek Life, formerly known as Greek Letter Organizations and Societies, launched “Greek 101” last Monday, a two-week-long series of workshops with titles including “Discipline and Dunkins,” “Fried Rice and Fiscal Responsibility” and “DBI and Dumplings.” The programming that included presentations by the Alcohol Management Program, representatives from the Office of Pluralism and Leadership and undergraduate deans, among many other College staff members. Greek executives, who began their tenure this term, were encouraged to attend the workshops in an effort to familiarize the students with college resources available.
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center has withdrawn from the Pioneer Accountable Care Organization Model, which requires participating medical centers to emphasize quality of care rather than fee for service care, DHMC director of external relations Rick Adams and DHMC director of value-based reimbursement models Lynn Guillette said.
Former New Hampshire House of Representatives speaker Terie Norelli (Dem.) has been praised for her collaborative spirit and gregarious nature by her colleagues in the legislature and for serving as symbol of female empowerment in politics. The Rockefeller Center has named her this year’s Perkins Bass Distinguished Visitor for her long and fruitful career.
The College’s single-sex fraternities will be hosting a formal open house pre-rush event for the first time on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. The decision to make the open house an additional segment of the men’s rush process was made during the 2015 spring term.
Though the College has a history of hosting primary debates for both the Democratic and Republican presidential hopefuls, this year students will need to travel to Manchester if they want to experience an in-person viewing.
The College’s revenue for fiscal year 2014 totaled $1,310,504,806, an increase of $116,638,828 over fiscal year’s 2013 revenue of $1,193,865,978.
PRIDE Week, a week-long celebration dedicated to raising awareness of lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer and transgender issues, wraps up today with a talk by keynote speaker and prominent transgender activist Janet Mock. Highlights of the week included an HIV screening in Collis Common Ground on Wednesday, a cookout on the Collis Center patio on Thursday and a series of lectures and discussions throughout the week.
