Non-Greek organizations alter initiations

In an effort to combat hazing among non-Greek organizations and athletic teams, the Collis Center for Student Involvement and the Athletics Department implemented new policies at the beginning of Fall term requiring student organizations and athletic teams to submit new member activity proposals before holding events with newly inducted members of their groups, according to Collis Center Associate Director Anna Hall and Deputy Director of Athletics Robert Ceplikas. Under the Collis Center's new policy, student groups must submit a form that includes a description of the activities they have planned, the goals they are trying to achieve and how news of the event will be communicated to new members, Hall said.

Women's lax falls in scrimmages at Dartmouth Fall Festival

The Ivy League-champion Dartmouth women's lacrosse team returned to action for the first time since falling to Syracuse University in spring's NCAA tournament, scrimmaging against the University of Massachusetts and the University of Vermont in the Dartmouth Fall Festival at Scully-Fahey Field on Sunday.

Endowment sees 5.8 percent return

Maggie Rowland / The Dartmouth Senior Staff Dartmouth's endowment posted an investment return of 5.8 percent for the 2012 fiscal year, exceeding all other Ivy League institutions that have released their returns but falling short of its 18.4 percent return rate in 2011, according to a College press release.
