Freshmen adjust to fraternity ban

The Greek Leadership Council's new freshman policy went into effect on Aug. 30, marking the start of a six-week period when members of the Class of 2017 are barred from entering Greek houses.

Student Spotlight: Victoria Li '16

Courtesy of Victoria Li It all began one summer night this past July when Victoria Li '16's adventures as a food blogger first took off. In the early morning hours, she decided to create "Hunger is the Best Chef" to feature dishes based on YouTube cooking videos. Her work blossomed through a natural interest in what she had seen on social media. "In high school, I did a lot of activities that I felt was expected of me," Li said.

Men's hockey team travels to Europe for preseason trip

Crossing the Atlantic, the Big Green spent 11 days in Italy and Switzerland, battling professional teams on the ice and taking in cultural sights in a quadrennial training trip. Coming well ahead of the start of the regular season, which kicks off with a road matchup against Princeton University in the Liberty Invitational on Oct.

Police probe fraternity fire

Zonia Moore / The Dartmouth Staff The Hanover Police Department is investigating a suspected arson at Chi Gamma Epsilon fraternity that occurred early Friday morning. At approximately 3 a.m., cardboard boxes caught fire in the basement, which triggered the house's alarm and sprinkler system.

Over 91 percent of freshmen participate in this year's DOC Trips

Over 91 percent of the Class of 2017, around 1,040 students, danced to the Salty Dog Rag, trekked out to the wilderness and ate a home-cooked meal at Moosilauke Lodge during Dartmouth Outing Club's First-Year Trips, which concluded on Monday. Trips, which involved the efforts of 336 trip leaders and Croo members, began on Aug.
