Like its protagonist, "Maria of Full Grace" leaves a poignant, touching impression on an untouchable subject. One of the taglines for "Maria Full of Grace" reads: "Based on 1,000 true stories." But while drug smuggling's frequency is undeniable, the acclaimed film's greatest attribute is its artful and moving humanization of one drug mule's story.

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Shribman '76 commented on the recent election and speculated about what Americans can expect from President Bush's second term Tuesday night in speech titled "The New Architecture of American Politics." Shribman, executive editor of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, began by referring to observations he made Sunday in a column where he focused on Bush's liberation from the "sniff of illegitimacy that pervaded his first term." Hats are Patriotic, Too

To the Editor: I am writing in response to Daniel Kozikowski's letter to the editor ("Maybe Their Hats Should Have Some Blue and White, Too," The Dartmouth, November 8) in which he expressed his "dismay" at the fact that this term's Alpha Chi pledges failed to remove their hats during the national anthem.
