Recycling To Riches

Expecting the frats to suddenly start recycling is like my fantasy of running table during Homecoming weekend while beautiful and wealthy female alumnae chant my name and throw their Hanover Inn room keys at me -- both scenarios are possible but highly improbable. I don't write this to single out or criticize the Greek system, something that has unfairly been done thousands of times and to no avail.

Soundcheck Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself

Guilt -- yet another one of those emotions I'm incapable of feeling. The closest I've recently come was Beck's summer release, "Modern Guilt," an apocalypse-themed album sporting social and environmental awareness; but as much as I may try to mooch off of Beck's guilt, it's really his and not mine. The role of guilt in music preferences is a strangely large one.

Tuck students eye shaky economy

As financial chaos whirls through the world, students and administrators at the Tuck School of Business await signs that might indicate whether the economic outlook is better -- or worse -- than commentators predict, as students prepare to enter the business world. Tuck students, faced with the failure of several prominent investment banks and increasing volatility in the international markets, must make their own predictions about what the financial world will look like in two years. "We're doing a lot of talking about how this issue is going to play itself out," Paul Granada Tu'10, a member of the Tuck investment club, said.

Fraternities prepare for fall rush weekend

Dartmouth's 14 fraternities will open their doors to approximately 275 sophomore, junior and senior men for fall rush this weekend, according to Taylor Holt '09, vice president of recruitment for the Interfraternity Council.
