I was really expecting to get bumped for the expose on the low quality of grips that the women's tennis team uses. I really am. But I feel like I must make the most of this opportunity.

The Dartmouth women's tennis squad traveled to the National Tennis Center in New York City to face off against teams from all around the country in the Women's College Tennis Invitational. Over the course of the Columbus Day weekend event, the Big Green collected a number of impressive victories against top competition.

The Dartmouth women's tennis team continued to impress in the early stages of its 2004-2005 campaign by dominating the Brown Invitational over the weekend. Out of six tournament flights, the Big Green claimed victory in five competitions.

The Dartmouth women's tennis team began its 2003-04 season in style this weekend by bulldozing the competition at Hanover's Volkl Shootout. The Big Green won 17 of their 20 singles matches over the course of the home tournament and compiled a sparkling 11-0 record in doubles play.

The Eastern Conference playoffs have followed their prescribed path, as the overwhelming choices to reach the conference finals prior to the postseason -- the Pacers and Pistons -- both advanced to play for a shot at the Western Conference champion. While Indiana held a 3-1 advantage in its regular season battles, the acquisition of Rasheed Wallace has now positioned Detroit as the consensus slight favorite going into the series.

Three Dartmouth lacrosse players have been named to the 2004 Tewaaraton Watch List, joining 26 men and 25 women from throughout the NCAA in vying for the Tewaaraton Trophy, the most prestigious award in college lacrosse. The trio of players -- Lana Smith '04, Katieanne Christian '05 and Andrew Goldstein '05 -- will all try to become the first Big Green winner of the four-year-old award.

The Dartmouth women's tennis team continued its impressive fall term by posting an excellent performance at the Women's College Tennis Invitational at the National Tennis Center in New York City on October 10-12. The Invitational included many strong teams from all over the country, including seven of the eight Ivy League squads.
