Downing Army (4-8) 55-42, Dartmouth managed to muster only its second win of the season against non-conference foes. Dartmouth's two leading scorers, Mike Lang '06 (10.3 ppg) and Leon Pattman '07 (11.3 ppg), notched 17 and 12 points, respectively, in the Dartmouth victory.

With the lacrosse season finished, the All-Ivy League selection committee has released its annual list of honorees. Six Dartmouth laxers were recognized, with Jamie Coffin '06, Ben Grinnell '05 and Pat Keeley '05 representing the Big Green on a first team comprised only of students from Cornell, Dartmouth and one individual from Yale.

With the Big Green's oldest continuous race up for contention on Sunday afternoon, the Dartmouth men's heavyweight crew team traveled to Syracuse, N.Y., with the hopes of capturing the Packard Cup. With a time of 6:16.7, Dartmouth's varsity eight bested the Syracuse Orangemen, whose time of 6:26.7 proved too weak. This win enabled Dartmouth to surpass the .500 mark for the season and to arrive at a 5-4 record.

As winter turns to spring, Hanover, N.H., was blessed with immaculate weather Thursday afternoon. The sun brilliantly radiated upon the backdrop of a cerulean palate of deep azure blue. With the smell of freshly grown grass wafting through the air, nothing could be more apropos than a ball game. The Dartmouth softball team (10-26-1) took to the field to battle the Golden Eagles (20-24) of Boston College for their final two games of the season in a tough double header.

Both the men's heavyweight and lightweight crew teams experienced stiff competition this weekend. With a home meet on the Connecticut River, the heavyweight team sought the Cochrane Cup for the first time since 2001. However, MIT and Wisconsin tried everything in their powers to prevent Dartmouth from claiming this title.

The Dartmouth crew teams traveled all over the northeast competing for three highly respected trophies. The men's heavyweight team journeyed to Piscataway, N.J. to take on both Boston University and Rutgers University. Meanwhile, the lightweight team competed in Cambridge, Mass., against MIT and Harvard. Likewise, the women's crew team battled Radcliffe and Syracuse at Syracuse, N.Y. With this trifecta of away matches, Dartmouth was poised to make a splash at any of these arenas. In this early spring action, all three Dartmouth teams were ready to demonstrate their year long hard work and incessant practice, showcasing the talent of Hanover's finest.

With second place in the Ivy League on the line and in the midst of an impressive five game winning streak, the Dartmouth men's basketball team (10-17, 7-7) knew that its turnaround basketball season was going to culminate in this last road trip of the season. Heading down to the tri-state area, the Big Green had a tough task ahead of it as it sought to knock off tournament-bound Penn (18-8, 11-1) and perennial powerhouse Princeton (15-12, 6-7).

Beginning a four game homestand, the Dartmouth men's basketball team (5-5, 8-15) finally seemed to have hit stride for the first time this season, garnering a .500 record during its defense of its home court. Displaying tremendous tenacity and consistency on both the defensive and offensive ends of the court, Dartmouth is finally reaching the potential that it displayed flashes of throughout the entire basketball season. With just four games left in the season, the Big Green is in shouting distance of Yale's strangle-hold on second place in the Ancient Eight and looks poised to cap off its turnaround season with a few season-ending victories.

On Monday night, the Dartmouth men's basketball team squared off against an athletic and disciplined Colgate squad at Leede Arena before a sparse, but rambunctious, crowd. The Big Green opened the game with an 11-3 run, creating scoring opportunities off of Colgate turnovers and fouls. However, the Big Green's offense soon went dry as Colgate climbed back into the game, taking advantage of the match-up with their more athletic guards.

The Big Green women's field hockey team capped off a rollercoaster season Sunday with an impressive road victory against Cornell. Coming off a win versus Holy Cross, Dartmouth was determined not to end the season on a low note. Playing the last collegiate games of their careers, Allison Welsh '05, Ashley Choren '05, Kelly Storer '05 and the Dartmouth Big Green outscored Cornell 5-2, leaving no doubt in the minds of their opponents as to which team was superior.

The Big Green showed tremendous grit and determination, but the Minutewomen proved to be too much for Dartmouth, grinding out a 2-1 victory.

It was supposed to be the toughest test of their season, but the Dartmouth field hockey team passed with flying colors. Facing Syracuse, the 17th-ranked team in the country, in hostile territory, it would have been easy for Dartmouth to give in and accept defeat. Instead, they decided to take this opportunity and transform it into a season-defining 3-1 victory.
