Students Advertise Drawing Marathon
Confused by cryptic "drawing marathon" posters scattered around campus? The actual drawing marathon is scheduled to take place from this Friday at 5 pm to Saturday at 5 am in the Hop drawing studios, according to a campus-wide e-mail sent by studio art intern Julia Zak '10. The event should be "a party, the more people the better," according to Zak.
Everyone from undergrads to profs to friends of students is encouraged to draw, she said. Studio art interns Zak, Max Heiges '10, Jenny Qian '10 and Kari Cholnoky '10 will present supplies, including pastels, charcoal, oil paints, India ink and watercolors, Zak said. There will also be live models, t-shirts, snacks and a performance by Thayer student D.J. Jan Gromadzki from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., she said.
While Zak has "no idea" how many students will attend, the interns are hoping for "tons," she said.
This is the first year that students, rather than professors, will be organizing the event, which is funded by the art department, Zak said.
