What are you (thinking of) studying?

Hannah Lapides ’26: I am an economics major and psychology minor!

Stella Miner ’29: Anthropology.

Aynura Erejepbaeva ’28: Cognitive science.

Arya Goyal ’29: Mathematics.

Why did you decide to join Mirror?

SF: Good vibes and lots of freedom!

HL: I worked for the Business Development team for the past three years, but I was always intrigued by Editorial. So I finally decided to switch for senior year! Mirror allows me to learn about aspects of campus life that I’m not a part of and report and reflect creatively on them.

SM: It seemed like a great way to connect with campus culture.

AE: I love writing. I first started in my language and now I actively write in English. Writing clears my mind. A lot.

AG: I read some of the articles that the Mirror had published and thought they were really interesting.

What’s been your favorite part of Dartmouth so far?

SF: Exploring the outdoors!

SM: My favorite part of Dartmouth so far has been all of the quirky traditions.

AE: I traveled to Portland for free as part of Allen House and had Harbor Tour for the first time!

AG: I love getting to know new people through interviews.

Favorite class this term?

SF: QSS 18: Intro to Game Theory

HL: TUCK 2: Principles of Marketing

SM: My favorite class has been ANTH 9: Language & Culture with Sabrina Billings.

AG: ASCL 70.30/SOCY 22: The Business of Development in Asia

Favorite fall-themed activity you’ve done so far?

SF: Hiked Mount Washington!

HL: Norwich Farmers Market! Or Gile sunsike.

SM: I went to the Norwich Farmers’ Market and loved it!

AE: I collected a bunch of fall leaves and threw them into the sky and they fell down on me and I smiled.

AG: Norwich Farmer’s Market.

Favorite fall treat (food or drink)?

SF: Pumpkin spice doughnut.

HL: Cider donuts and Starbucks pumpkin cream cold foam.

SM: Pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin bread.

AE: Apple cider.

Favorite Mirror article (excluding any written by you, of course) published this term so far?

SM: Cooking with Kent and Vidushi: Scallion Pancakes.

AG: I loved the article ranking various types of smoothies in Hanover.

Why should people read Mirror?

SF: Cool quirky stories!

HL: Mirror is a reflection of student experiences that you might not hear about every day. Reading Mirror can be a great way to learn about different aspects of campus life and even build a sense of community.

SM: Because it gives insight to campus culture and shows the creativity of Dartmouth writers.

AE: To get to know the perspectives of your peers at Dartmouth.

Why should prospective writers join Mirror?

SF: Free food.

HL: I love the way Mirror combines Opinion and News in a creative way. Since joining Mirror, not only have I found that I love writing this type of journalism, but I have also learned a ton about campus life through interviewing students, professors and members of the Hanover community.

SM: It allows them to write about subjects that interest them and allows for more creativity than other sections, as the topics can be fairly wide-ranging.

AE: Editors are supportive and come up with interesting ideas for us!

AG: It’s super fun and a really great way to explore the culture of campus and Hanover.
