What to Watch For

Vince Marriott: This Saturday, one of the most historic athletic events in the history of the United States is taking place the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby. This event has for over a century been the best measuring stick for speed, endurance and racing skill of thoroughbred horses in the country, and it shows no signs of disappointing this year. Hansen has a great shot, but Daddy Long Legs should also challenge for the title. Even if horse racing isn't necessarily your thing, the outrageous outfits and unlike celebrity attendees also provide for quality entertainment. (Saturday, 5-7 p.m., NBC)

Dong Zhao: The dynamic of the entire 2012 NBA playoffs took a dramatic turn when reigning MVP Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls landed awkwardly on his left knee with just over a minute left in the team's opening playoff game against the Sixers. Before that point, the Bulls had looked like the unstoppable force that compiled a league-best 50-16 record during the regular season. With the loss of their dynamic point guard for the rest of the year due to an ACL tear, the Bulls turned from a feared title contender to a vulnerable squad that might not get out of the first round of the playoffs. The rest of the Bulls roster, which includes former all-stars Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer and Richard Hamilton as well as the always fiery Joakim Noah, will have to prove to the world in Game Two of the seven-game series that it can keep on winning without its vaunted leader. (Tuesday, 8 p.m., TNT)

Jonathan Gault: I've been pimping the F.A. Cup all season, so it's only right that I should promote the final as well. Though this year's two finalists are well behind Manchester City and Manchester United in the Premier League title race, both have been playing well in other competitions. Liverpool won the Carling Cup back in February and Chelsea will square off against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final next month. But on Saturday, all of England will be paying attention to the "Cup Final" the closest thing English football has to a Super Bowl. (Saturday, 12 p.m., Fox Soccer)
