Brandon McNally '15, Connor Goggin '12 and Doug Jones '12 netted goals for the Big Green in its loss to the Bulldogs. Jones' goal earned him membership in Dartmouth's 100-point club.
Jones said the milestone was bittersweet, however, because his efforts failed to provide the Big Green with a win.
"It is something I am proud of, but it is more important that we get in a groove before playoffs start," he said.
The goals came late in the night for the Big Green, with McNally scoring the first goal 6:52 into the second period. McNally then put together a passing play with Goggin that resulted in another goal with about four minutes left in the second stanza.
Paul Lee '12, playing in the 100th game of his career, assisted on McNally's seventh goal of the season. Lee is the fifth Big Green player this season to reach the century mark.
Jones' goal was his eighth of the season and put the Big Green within a goal at 4-3. Jones is tied for 10th all-time in Dartmouth history in career assists with 74.
Goaltender James Mello '12 recorded 23 saves on 28 shots.
On Saturday, the Big Green traveled to Brown to face the Bears. Dartmouth started quickly, scoring the first two goals within the first 10 minutes of play. Dartmouth has won eight of its last nine games against Brown and now has 17 points in the ECAC hockey standings going into the final weekend of regular season play.
Lee said the Big Green played well in a hard-fought game.
"It was a physical game," he said. "We had two players leave the game with injuries. We stuck together, played the right way and played hard and smart for 60 minutes."
The Big Green dominated Saturday's game against Brown (8-15-4, 5-12-3 ECAC). Eric Robinson '14 scored twice in the first period, giving Dartmouth an early lead. His first came at 3:22, a wrist shot over the Bears' blocker from the top of the left circle. The other, at 6:22, was a centered pass from Nick Walsh '12 that bounced off the body of an opponent and into the net.
Robinson's performance pushed his goal total to a team-leading 12, tying his career high for a season.
Goalie Jody O'Neill '12 turned away 34 attempts by the Bears.
Robinson leads the team with 21 points, while Jones now ranks second on the team with 20 points following his goals on Friday.
Dartmouth has played through numerous player injuries, that have hindered the team's performance, according to Lee. Still, he said he hopes the team will be able to pick it up before the playoffs.
"We have had a rough stretch of luck with injuries, but we will turn it around if we stick together and learn from our losses," he said.
The Big Green will try to use its win on Saturday to propel it to a successful homestand against Clarkson University and St. Lawrence University on Friday and Saturday, respectively, before the playoffs begin on March 2.
