Having accumulated over four million views in just over a month, the commercial for Ojai Valley Taxidermy might be the most popular local commercial of all time. Produced by YouTube stars Rhett and Link, the commercial features the eccentric taxidermist Chuck Testa (acting only slightly more animate than his clientele) showing off his collection of "the most lifelike dead animals." As countless people mistake the creatures for being alive, Chuck delivers the now-famous catchphrase "Nope!" in a flat monotonous drawl. The commercial reached meme status as sites like Reddit blew up with posts playing off of the eccentricities of the ad. "Grandma's back! Nope, just Chuck Testa," reads the caption of one image. The commercial and its production were recently featured on Rhett and Link's show "Commercial Kings," where the duo travels the country producing local commercials just as quirky and inspired as Chuck's.
