Seven Dartmouth students previously suspected to have swine flu have tested negative for the H1N1 virus, according to a statement released by director of Health Services John Turco on Tuesday.
Results are still pending for an eighth student who visited Dick's House Monday night, according to Diana Pearson, Dartmouth's vice president for communications.
Turco also announced that the College would no longer issue daily updates on the situation, following an announcement by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano that swine flu poses no greater risk than seasonal influenza.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also announced today that it will no longer be necessary for schools to close in response to swine flu.
