January 14, 1:23 a.m.

Vox Lane

Hanover Police observed a vehicle making an illegal U-turn onto Main Street last Wednesday. The vehicle then arrived at a red light, but made a turn without yielding the right of way to another vehicle. Hanover Police pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road. After the male driver failed a roadside sobriety test, he was arrested for driving under the influence. His court date is scheduled for Feb. 23.

January 17, 2:21 a.m.

N. Main Street

A Hanover Police officer on patrol found an 18-year-old female student who appeared to be intoxicated. She was being assisted by two females when the officer approached her. Although she continued to hold on to her two friends, the student insisted that she could walk a straight line on her own. In attempting to do so, she almost fell over before one of her friends grabbed her. She was taken to the police station to be booked. An officer had to wake her up to take her photograph. The student's court date is set for Feb. 23.

January 17, 8:24 p.m.

Lot 1

Hanover Police observed suspicious behavior inside a vehicle in a parking lot behind Hanover Town Hall. The officer on patrol found two males in the car with more than $700 in cash, along with multiple bags of marijuana. The vehicle, which was registered to one of the men in the car, was then impounded. On Jan. 20, Hanover Police searched the vehicle after obtaining a search warrant. More than $10,000 in cash was found, implicating the two men in drug sales and possession. Both men were released from jail on $2,500 bail and have a court date set for Feb. 23.

January 17, 9:02 p.m.

Olde Nugget Alley

A 40-year-old female notified Hanover Police on Saturday that she had been harassed via text message. The woman, an employee at 5 Olde Nugget Alley Restaurant, received threatening messages from a younger male employee who was fired earlier that day. The text messages were sent a few hours after the employee was fired and contained vulgar language. Hanover police investigated the incident but made no arrests.

January 18, 4:23 a.m.

College Street

Hanover police noticed a male Dartmouth student urinating in the snow outside of Wheeler Hall last Sunday. The student appeared to be intoxicated but was 21 years of age, so no arrest was made. The police officer called Dartmouth Safety and Security to pick the student up and transport him to his place of residence.

January 18, 7:45 p.m.

Allen Street

Hanover Police received a complaint on Sunday from a clerk at Stinson's Village Store regarding misrepresentation of age. The clerk informed the police that he believed two males had previously used a fake form of identification from New Jersey to buy tobacco products. The males were seemingly unaffiliated with the College and appeared to be high school students. Hanover Police is still investigating the case.

January 19, 3:28 a.m.

S. Main Street

Hanover Police observed a male Dartmouth student holding a beer can while walking on Main Street. When the 19-year-old student noticed the officer approaching him, he dropped the beer can. He claimed that he had just picked up the can and was looking for a way to dispose of it. The student appeared inebriated and was consequently arrested and charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. His court date is set for Feb. 23.
