To the Editor:
Yesterday, there was an unfortunate attack on the integrity of Dartmouth Chairman Ed Haldeman '70. The "whistle blower" showed his lack of integrity by injecting the issue into Hanover, an act that could only be for the purpose of embarrassment, not justice. Meanwhile, a headline-seeking "regulator" in Massachusetts tries to make something out of a matter that was investigated by the SEC and dropped.
Ed and I have disagreed on various governance issues, including the role of alumni on Dartmouth's Board, but I trust him without exception. Ed Haldeman is a man of extraordinary integrity, who has done an excellent job running Dartmouth's Board.
