To the Editor:
I am sure you have your remaining alumni set for your three-part series ("ROTC alum commands army base in Afghanistan," May 2; "'Adventurous' graduate trains, may head to Iraq," May 1), but on the outside chance you are still researching, look up Mike Lauria '05. He is currently enrolled in the U.S. Air Force pararescue program, the most intense and longest training system which produces only a handful of high risk technical combat rescuers every year. Mike has completed the indoctrination course, SERE survival school, Static Line parachuting school and basic dive school. He is currently earning his paramedic status in New Mexico. In July, he heads to HALO jump school before all this culminates in "PJ University." It's all very intense and pretty unique within itself.
While Mike was at Dartmouth, he taught for the ALPS language program, was a firefighter for Hanover FP and a member of the Dartmouth Ski Patrol.
If you're still looking, consider Mike.
