To the Editor:
I appreciate Student Assembly committee chair Molly Bode's attempt to clear the air after her organization's embarrassing mishap ("No SA plan to abolish the Greek system," Jan. 22), but to attack the integrity of a newspaper for straightforward reporting on a newsworthy document is an immature lashing out that displays a lack of ethics one would not expect to find in one of the College's top leaders. Was it really wrong for The Dartmouth to print such an article?
I believe not publishing the article after being leaked a statement with such profound implications would have displayed far less integrity, especially when after investigating the statement its alleged author could neither confirm nor deny writing it. It is indeed unethical for someone to be leaking statements to The D, but it is more than likely coming from within the Assembly, unless the organization just leaves computers with such controversial documents open to the public without any sort of protection. I know that The D takes such measures to ensure the security of its files. Perhaps they can offer the intricacies of their technological know-how as a peace offering in this back-and-forth, he said-she said conflict that resembles the movie "Mean Girls" more than an Ivy League student government.
