To the Editor:
The Dartmouth recently identified "three academic teams" that have qualified to national tournaments ("Three academic teams make national comps.," April 6).
However, this article failed to acknowledge the accomplishments of the other Dartmouth academic teams. Specifically, the policy debate team of Kathryn Clark '07 and Brian Smith '06 came in second place at the Cross Examination Debate Association National Tournament in Dallas. Also, the team of Hunter Brooks '06 and David Marks '06 came in third place.
Dartmouth also qualified three teams (one of only six schools to do so) to the National Debate Tournament in Chicago over spring break.
The team of Clark and Smith advanced to octofinals and the team of Brooks and Marks advanced to the quarterfinals. Dartmouth was one of only six teams to have two teams in the elimination rounds at the National Debate Tournament.
