Tell SA You Want Moore

I am running for Vice President because I want to put Student Assembly back to work for students. Real results are what my work in SA, this campaign, and my vision for the future is all about.

My ultimate vision for the Student Assembly is one of diversity, inclusion, and communication, but this is not what I am running on. Ideals are not a platform, ideas are. The ideas that I am bringing to the table are those projects and programs that I have been and am personally and directly working on.

Real DDS Reform- equitably providing all meal plan levels, protecting the freedom to purchase at Topside, and implementing sustainable rollover. Alumni Affairs- fighting to save Tubestock and lobbying to create a Young Alumni Trustee position. Free music sharing- implementing a free pilot music-sharing program through Campus Action Network to eventually allow Dartmouth to choose a legal, low-priced music provider. Hinman package notification- instituting an electronic system that would alert students via blitz when they have a package. TV channel expansion- eliminating unused programming and replacing it with channels like ESPNU and HBO. Real results.

One of the main differences between the other candidates and myself is that my platform is not simply a list of things to get elected and I am not going to engage in that kind of demagoguery. I am not going to discuss things that I have no relationship to. Let me give you some examples: Ruslan writes on his posters that he wants to improve alumni relations. Sounds nice, but I am on the Alumni Affairs Committee and he has never been to a meeting. Santi writes on his posters that he wants DDS reform. I, with the Student Services Committee, conducted multiple meetings, focus groups, and wrote legislation to do just this, and we never saw him once.

Like Blitz terminals and the College Readership Program (free newspapers), I am going to put SA to work fulfilling its mission to work for students. I am going to continue to work hard for you until things actually get done in the spirit of current Vice President Jeff Coleman, whose support I am proud to have. Tangible services and projects to improve life at Dartmouth are what students want out of SA, and these real results are exactly what I am going to deliver.
