Dear The Editor:
As a recent Dartmouth graduate, I found President Wright's remarks in his speech condescending and an insult to the intelligence of Dartmouth alumni. Instead of asking alums to blindly follow his lead, perhaps Wright should ask why alumni are unhappy with his presidency. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that he has cut academic departments, classes are crowded, professors are leaving, Dartmouth is falling in the rankings, he tried to cut the swim team, he tried to end Greek life, unnecessary administrators are being hired left and right, and basically alumni cannot vote in elections (hopefully this will soon change). The best way for President Wright to garner alumni support for his presidency and the College, is not to just ask for it, but to earn it by listening more to alumni and professors.
