RIAA Feeds the Wrong Musicians

To the Editor:

RIAA President Cary Sherman describes the loads of "starving artists," if you will ("RIAA sues undergrads using i2hub," April 14) -- but does he even know who they are? The RIAA as a whole has produced less than 100 good albums in the past 5 years, the real good bands are those that are starving artists. If he had ever seen one of them play live, he would have heard them tell the crowd "check out our merch table, you can buy our CD or just download it if you want."

The bands that the RIAA owns (and I do mean "owns") are generally not musicians who love music, they are musicians who love money -- just like Sherman.
