To the Editor:
Through my time as a member of Kappa Delta Epsilon sorority I have learned that experience truly matters when dealing with the Greek community and its role on Dartmouth's campus. The Greek system is just one of the many outstanding characteristics of Dartmouth, but nevertheless it is an integral one.
As a leader in my Greek organization, I have witnessed first hand the many positive aspects that the Greek system brings to the Dartmouth community. That being said, there is always room for improvement. For example, I would like to see increased integration of the Greek system with the rest of campus. Such integration would result in the strengthening of all parties concerned, allowing the Greek system to draw from a broader pool of opportunities while further extending its benefits to the campus as a whole. Also a pressing issue for sororities and the Panhellenic Council is expansion.
Our established facilities are not sufficient to accommodate our present numbers. With time we will have the capabilities to make these improvements, but increased involvement from our student body leaders would undoubtedly help expedite the process. All of these things being said, the Student Assembly's leadership is a cause for major concern at this crucial time.
We need a candidate who is willing to take on these issues and facilitate the necessary communication and cooperation between the Greek community, the administration, and the campus at large. Brian Martin '06 has the experience, drive and leadership skills essential to achieving these ends.
Therefore I urge the Dartmouth student body to seriously consider Brian's platform and his candidacy for Student Assembly President.
