Hey, if Phi Delt Can Do It...

To the Editor:

I think that the entire Dartmouth Community recognizes that Zete's actions in regards to the "Zetemouth," or the newsletter that they published, were inappropriate. However, the administration's draconian response was also unacceptable. To derecognize an entire institution because of offensive (or even liberlous) speech seems unreasonable. If the current administration really does wish to make amends with the Greek Community and those upset with the sanction imposed on Zete, then why not offer rerecognition to their house in addition to recognizing a 7th sorority? No member of Zete who was present when it was derecognized is still on campus. Phi Delt's re-recognition proved to be a great success, why not give Zete the same opportunity?
