Much Ado About Nothing

To the Editor:

This flak over the SA Blitz terminal project ("SA rolls out 34 public computers," Feb. 1) has to be the most petty, juvenile squabbling that I've seen in years. Who cares if Brian Martin may or may not have discussed the project with people? What was the point in it being confidential? Students knew that new computers were coming, and the sooner the better. SA is in charge of maintaining the Blitz terminals around campus, most of which were bordering on decrepit. By providing new ones, SA was simply doing its job, and a relatively simple one at that. Kudos for finally getting it done, but the project merited no degree of "confidentiality," nor Julia Hildreth's power-tripping over reaction to Martin's imagined violation thereof.
