Differing Accounts

To the Editor:

In response to "Sex Festival organizers nix Chi Gam booth" (Feb. 24), the organizers did not completely discourage Greek representation; on the contrary, I believe the erogenous zones booth ended up being run by Panarchy, and plenty of houses including Chi Gam provided cookies for the event. It's just disheartening that the organizers would make an empty offer of more interactive participation under the assumption that my particular fraternity wouldn't be interested, and then rescind when we were. If the purpose of the festival is to provide a comfortable forum for the campus to gain information and encourage positive sexual behavior, then such selective exclusion undermines this goal and discourages the participation of a subpopulation that could benefit from attending. It amounts to an institutional affront, but perhaps not front page news.
