To the Editor:
Several quotes appearing in an article on Monday ("Chi Gam party shut down early," Jan. 24) were attributed to my name. I regret that my version of events was sharply distorted and misquoted to be misleading.
What I saw Friday night, in my own unmodified words, was Chi Gamma Epsilon fraternity brothers assisting sick girls who had not drank at the frat and working alongside, not against, Safety and Security to clear the house safely. I was not present when a "Good Samaritan" phone call was placed, so any opinion about the event that I allegedly gave is hearsay and cannot be printed as fact.
To be absolutely clear, I do not stand behind the content of the article. I have recounted all I know about Friday's events in this response, and I could not have contributed more in any interview.
