To the Editor:
I have sympathy for Welton Chang and his fellow cadets ("Supporting Those Who Serve," Jan. 24). The United States Air Force provided me a scholarship for medical school. The program that allowed me the opportunity was not even suggested by the pre-med office at Dartmouth. I even received dirty looks when I asked about military programs. Administrators are intent in keeping people away from the military. It is ironic that those who preach diversity and understanding can be so narrow-minded. Military personnel are just as intelligent and much more tolerant then your typical Dartmouth administrator. Dartmouth students deserve access to every opportunity. After all, unlike the administrators, most of the students will live in the real world someday.
