The Dartmouth

Uncovered, Again

To the Editor:

It is unfortunate that two years in a row The Dartmouth has failed to mention Milan Culture Night without members of Milan, the South Asian group on campus, having to point out its omission. I could write a more detailed letter about how the show we put on Saturday, May 8, "Meri Kahaani: My Story," merits the attention of The D and how year after year we put on an award-winning show that showcases the dedication of over 60 students in attempt to share parts of our culture, but I feel that it's even more effective to allude to an editorial written exactly a year ago by this year's co-chair, Neha Kulkarni '05.

In the op-ed "Overlooked Events" found in Wednesday, May 14, 2003's edition of The D, Kulkarni writes, "I'm sorry, but did I miss another pullout section that wasn't all about Dartmouth sports in last week's issue? Is it just me, or were the Milan Spring Show and the Pow Wow completely overlooked in the goings-on of last weekend? It's about time that this school focus on things other than the same sports teams over and over again."

This year, the Pow Wow was included, but only as the front page floater. Maybe next year we can achieve similar glory.
