To the Editor:
This past weekend saw the arrival on campus of approximately 500 prospective students -- members of the Class of 2008. They had a full weekend of activities including classroom visits, student panels, and overnight stays in the residence halls. I met with many of these students and heard repeatedly about how friendly they found the Dartmouth campus. The enthusiasm and warmth of current Dartmouth students inspired and encouraged them. I wanted to thank all of the students as well as the faculty, staff, and particularly the admissions staff, who made the weekend such a success. Dartmouth's strength derives from your commitment.
