To the Editor:
Jenn Buck claims that some Iraqi Civil Defense Corps guards left their posts during the Fallujah clashes (The Dartmouth, April 14). However, since that claim was made within the context of former Kurdish peshmerga soldiers now in the ranks of ICDC, it may seem to readers that it was the former peshmergas that left their posts. That is not correct.
The Kurdish members of ICDC have remained loyal to their fellow United States soldiers and liberators during fighting in Fallujah. Those insurgents in Fallujah are the same enemy that brought terror to Kurdistan in the past. It is the Arab members of the ICDC that have refused to fight the terrorists, not the brave peshmergas.
